I did a photoshoot for a friend of a friend last weekend, and I think it was a huge success despite being pressed for time. Thanks to Lindsay, Brendan, Zach, Brooke, and their moms for the fun times!
Hopefully you’ll be seeing this picture on Lillian Osborne High School’s Christmas concert invites this year!
More of my photos will be posted on my flickr site in upcoming months. You can check them out here.

Question: Why am I writing this concert review 3 days after its already happened?
Answer: Because that’s how long it’s taken me to come down from the high. And already I’m looking forward to the next concert to satiate my Coldplay addiction….
I had the privilege to spend my Thursday evening with Chris, Guy, Jonny, and Will….and boy, was it an incredible night! The minute the lights went out and “Life in Technicolour” started up, chills ran up and down my spine, and I was filled with the excitement of a 12 year old girl at a Jonas Brothers concert.
It’s amazing that, even after playing hundreds of shows around the world, Coldplay is STILL able to maintain the energy and enthusiasm of a band that’s playing a major gig for the very first time. Even the people on the balconies standing for the entire show!
[*To the couple to the left of us who were sitting the whole show while everyone around you was singing/clapping/dancing/cheering:
Did you think you were at a Josh Groban concert or something?...]
What I loved about their performance was their effort to genuinely connect with the audience. Their acoustic set at the very back of the arena (where Chris sang a cute impromptu number about Edmonton) was a great surprise – it kinda made me feel like I was watching a bunch of buddies playing tunes around the living room while friends gathered around and watched. It was intimate. It was charming. It was fun. It was Coldplay.
Without question, seeing Coldplay perform live was the best $100 I have ever spent. I loved seeing the bouncing yellow balloons for Yellow and seeing Chris jump around the stage at the end of Fix You…. But my favourite song of the night goes to….*drumroll, please*…..Lovers in Japan – complete with butterfly confetti!! To top it off, each fan received a free copy of LeftRightLeftRightLeft! THANK YOU, COLDPLAY for a fantastic evening!! Can’t wait to do it again soon!

Everyone and their grandma must be whippin’ up some swiss chard goodness for their Easter Sunday dinners!!
My blog hits have gone up 250 in the past 3 days…. all because of people googling the words ’swiss chard’ and landing on my post regarding the Couchsurfers Ultimate Frisbee event where Alysha proved to the world that she was hardly an expert on vegetables…
Sorry to disappoint you guys – you won’t be finding any recipes here….
But hey – at least now you know that celery is not swiss chard!
I’ll leave you with a little Easter treat my friend, Erin, sent me…
Have a HOPPY EASTER!

So I snagged some tickets to see this band on June 18th called Coldplague?… or Coldplace?…or Coldplate? or something…I dunno. Apparently they’re a pretty big deal. I just hope they’re half decent…otherwise I’ll be pissed knowing that I could’ve spent my $250 on Jonas Brothers* tickets.

*SO joking about the Jo Bros.
Well I’ve got the cure! (Thanks to Falynn)
FMYLIFE is guaranteed to get a laugh or two out of ya….and maybe even make your life seem just a little less shitty!
Lately, I’ve been honing my cheerleading skills at my younger sister’s soccer games.
What can I say – having a scream-fest versus the opposing team’s dads has become a favourite hobby of mine. There’s something satisfying about bruising a balding, 50 year old man’s ego.
One game this weekend was particularly educational. Let me share the wisdom I’ve learned….
When booting a ball towards adjacent solid object, the ball will:
1. …ricochet back and hit your teammate the face
2. …ricochet back and hit you in the face
3. …ricochet back, hit you in the face, and the blind, clueless parents in the stands will be quick to blame the closest living object near the ball, minus the aforementioned ball kicker, for the incident.
Well, I hope you guys have learned a valuable lesson here….
….Always kick the ball as hard as you can at the face of a clueless soccer mom.
Everyone’s a winner then.

…and by that, I mean Lindsay Best! (Ya! For realz! That’s really her last name!)
After a year in the making, my friend Lindsay and I finally got around to doing the fun photoshoot we’ve been planning to do. Of course, it had to be in -30 degree weather, but Lindsay’s a trooper…and we made it out free of frost bite/alive.
The outdoor shots were done overlooking the North Sask. River at McNally High School and the indoor shots were done at a shady* LRT station by the Legislature.
Ch-ch-check-check-check-ch-check out Lindsay’s Blog and tell her what an awesome model she is!
*Shout out to the freaky ass ghost that kept opening and closing the hallway doors and making me crap my pants.
